📝 From the President

May brings open bands, open parks, and the start of our busiest operating season. Thank you for the energy you bring to Monday Activities Night, our nets, and the growing list of portable outings. This club thrives because of your curiosity and generosity.

APRIL General Meeting — Thursday, April 16 • 7:00 PM

Program: Portable HF Antennas

Weekly & Recurring

  • Welfare Net —Daily at 7:00pm 146.940 repeater
  • Sunday Night Nets — ARES Training Net – following the welfare net 146.940 FM FUSION Net —  following the ARES net 146.940 DN
  • Tuesday Night  Nets —  500 Club Net —following the welfare net, repeater TBD
  • Friday Night Nets —2 meter SSB (The DEUCE) 144.240 upper side band – following the welfare net
  • Saturday Nets – The ELMER Net 9:00am 146.940, The Saturday Night Shootout following the welfare net repeater TBD
  • Monday Activities Night — 6:00 PM at the clubhouse

Special Events

  • SKYWARN Training—This Saturday April 11 at 10:00am at the Clubhouse
  • VE TESTING – Saturday April 18 at 10:00
  • Brainard Hamfest —Saturday April 18 from 9-12 at the National Guard Armory
  • Ripley Rendezvous — April 25 at Camp Ripley info at the club meeting
  • Field Day— Saturday, June 27 at Crow   State Park

🔧 Technical & Repeater Notes

The 443.500 UHF Repeater is currently down.

🎓 Education & Training

We are doing a DIGITAL Modes series Tuesdays at 7:00pm at the clubhouse. We started with WINLINK and plan on an introduction to WSJT-X, VarAC, JS8Call. We will also take a look at APRS and MESHCORE/MESHTASTIC.  We have a fantastic team of educators so…join us on Tuesday at 7:00.

💼 Club Business

  • Treasurer’s Report: Finances remain strong; April expenses included general operating expenses and Special Event supplies.
  • Dues Reminder: 2026 dues are still being collected.
  • Field Day Committee: Volunteers needed for setup, logging, food, and teardown.

📨 Closing Notes

Thank you for being part of SCARC. Warmer weather means more chances to get on the air together — from backyards to parks to Field Day. See you at the next meeting or Monday Activities Night.
